Vacation film

Review of Las Vegas Serial Killer (1986) by hmmadness79: πŸ‘Ž 0.5/10

This could have been called B Roll the movie. This was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. It feels like 70 percent of it are long random shots of Vegas.

But not cool Vegas, just random streets and areas with real people just going about their day. Sometimes one of the 2 people we are following are in the shot just walking to their next place or driving aimlessly. It is literally like watching a really bad vacation video.

Then you have the killer. Its dark I suppose but doesn't feel as brutal as I think it is supposed to due to everything around it. It will bother some people but between the long b roll shots and the fact we also follow 2 guys who drive around purse snatching its not really a movie.

You are lead to believe the purse snatchers and the Strangler will meet but while they do end up driving past him walking a lot and share a scene in a diner they never met. Its another pointless set up. The Strangler does kill some of the woman they rob but thats as close as it gets.

Director Ray Dennis Steckler is known for his exploitation films. Nudity, long drawn out kills, etc and this is actually following the killer from a movie called Thrill Killers and is the middle of a trilogy. Normally I am compelled to finish a series but for once I have zero interest which as my wife will tell you is unheard of.

This is barely a movie. It is boring, slow, confusing, and should not be on anyone's watchlist. Normally I can at least say Im glad i expanded my movie knowledge and maybe find a good scene or two. This is another rare moment. A movie I really wish I hadn't wasted my time with. It didn't even make me angry like many bad movies do. It made be bored and tired. Save yourself avoid this and most likely anything by this director.
