They needed to try Bride Harder
Review of Bride Hard (2025) by billiamthenerd: π 4.7/10
I think this needed to go a little darker. It feels like a made for TV action movie at times. The kind of movie where deaths happen offscreen or no one actually gets shot. That blows my mind because it was an R rated movie. Normally when you have a lot of action but little violence it's because you want to keep the MPAA rating low, but if it's going to be an R rated film anyway, why pull so many punches.
This felt like it was trying to be Melissa McCarthy's Spy but it couldn't quite make it. It has a talented cast but the story as a whole was mediocre. The bare bones movie is a good idea, but like I said before, it needed more to keep it interesting.
While I didn't hate this movie, I don't think I'd ever watch it again outside of a Rebel Wilson or Anna Camp marathon.
The actors who played the smaller roles did a good job but the story just let them down. They weren't interesting and all three of the other bridesmaids had their own little side story but I completely forgot about those until they were touched on again.
This was fine and it's worth a watch if you're a fan of Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, or you're just into the genre in general. But everyone else can pass it right up.
