Bow to the King of Monsters

Review of Godzilla (1954) by billiamthenerd: πŸ‘ 10.0/10

I have to be honest with myself and say that I've never seen this. I saw the 1956 version with Raymond Burr, but that is a travesty and this is the masterful original.

Godzilla is an iconic monster and this film is our introduction to him. There would be no Shin Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One without this film. Hell, there wouldnt' even be the Matthew Broderick Godzilla without this.

Sure I can be critical of this film. It has some pacing issues as it seems to slow down right before the end as well as the ending itself feeling a bit lackluster. But when it comes to an iconic movie like this, I forgive things like that. This is cinema history.
