They're Good Dogs, Brent.

This movie is very relevant to America today. Though mayor Kobayashi isn't as irredeemably evil as the orange blob man, anyone with even a little media literacy can see the anti fascist message in this film. A stop motion animated movie about a boy searching for his dog is political? Yes, media, especially movies, are political. While yes, you can simply enjoy this as an entertaining film, there's no reason that you can't also marinate in the messaging. Fascism bad. Dogs good.
As an aside, I usually hate animated movies who pump their film full of famous people as voice actors when there are a plethora of talented voice actors out there and a lot of times these big names don't do anything special (Chris Pratt as Mario). But Wes Anderson gets a pass for this because who else would he hire? It's a Wes Anderson movie and we need his regulars.
