I laughed a few times but was overall bored. It's a shame because this has a good cast and by all means it should have been good. I think this film should have gone harder into its lampooning of the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes movies instead of just having the odd scene with Sherlock doing his head calculation thing. Also it felt like the film couldn't decide if Holmes really was a genius detective or a bumbling moron and while I get that's what the film was going for, I think it would have been more effective if they leaned more one way or the other. Have him be a genius that funny things happen to or a complete moron that somehow always wins. This films inability to make up its mind coupled with a boring story and an underutlized Ralph Fiennes mean this is entirely skippable. Also, they seemed to forget that Lestrade was a character halfway through!
